Vince Fumo earlier this month, Rendell asked labor leader John Dougherty to consider running for Fumo's seat in the event Fumo resigns or is ousted and a special election for the 1st District seat were held. Sources tell us Rendell summoned the leader of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98 to the Bellevue (200 S. Broad) for two recent meetings at which Rendell encouraged Johnny Doc to run.
