The toasted pop tart started a third attempt to get clean - admittedly by the time you read this she could be out and getting the Ten Commandments tattooed on her inner thigh - after Kevin Federline requested an appearance in family court seeking custody of their two sons.

IT'S NOT quite the academic track Tattle suggested yesterday, but at least Britney Spears is doing something: Rehab. What kind of rehab is unclear - Booze? Drugs? Parenting? Bad music? - but TMZ.com reports she's checked into the Promises treatment center in Malibu, a fairly hardcore in-patient facility (shared rooms, etc.), which will not serve as merely a resting place until her hair grows back.

DONNA BENNER, longtime producer of Maury Povich's syndicated talk show, has left "Maury," where she has worked for 10 years. The Society Hill resident was named last April in a $100 million lawsuit filed by Bianca Nardi, a 28-year-old "Maury" producer, who alleged that she was subjected to a sexually charged atmosphere at the show, fostered by "an intimate and sexual relationship" between Povich and Benner, who are each married to other people.
